There is too much variability in our product. How do we reduce it?

Great question! The main goal of process control is to reduce product variability. Once this goal is achieved, the business can then improve profits by making a product closer to specification. One of the problems with controlling a process can be the lack of suitable measurement data, which must be solved before the control system can be designed.

Mark Loeffen & Associates staff have over 20 years’ experience in the development of measurement and control systems, and specialise in difficult control problems where off-the-shelf systems cannot be used.
Examples include control of freezing in an air blast freezer, pH control in a chemical effluent treatment plant, refrigeration system control, statistical process control in a chemical plant, and control of manufacturing processes.
